Hey there. I have road runner and they hooked up our 2nd computer using an RCA modem and a Netgear WG111v2 wireless adapter. The modem is on the 1st floor computer, the wireless on the 2nd floor computer. Worked ok for the 1st yr then the adapter crapped out so I picked up a new one: same exact type. However, now that I have it all set up I have no internet access. I have internet downstairs just fine and the set up of the new Netgear installed just fine all green lites and I “should” have internet access – but I don’t. I’m getting some kind of error message about it not finding my IP address? You would have thought since this was all set up previously all I’d have to do is plug in the new adapter so why am I having problems? I verified my SSID and passcode so it’s definitely something with the IP address thing. I’m not techy so please speak in terms I can hopefully follow.
