It has been in the 40’s with regularity, and the occasional 50’s now for a couple of weeks in my neck of the woods. The flowers are really beginning to bloom now. So here are some pics to continue the chronicle that is TR Garden Club.

Hyacinth – The first up are always kind of scrawny, and there should be some blues in a few days.

Blue Grape Hyacinth – These started out in the back yard, but the birds like to eat the seeds after the flowers fade and they are slowly getting scattered all over the yard.

More Crocus – when the sun doesn’t shine they don’t open. The mourning doves like to eat the petals also. The yellows are already gone…

The first Daffodils in my yard – I have some giant yellows, but they won’t bloom for a couple more weeks.
The Crocus and the Daffodils are planted in shady areas – the Crocus in the shade of an oak that won’t leaf out for several weeks yet and the Daffodils in the shade of the Wisteria, which will flower before it leafs out. Flowers that bloom very early in the Spring usually do well (for me at any rate) in shady spots.
edited: still not getting those picture sizes quite right…
edit: Change English Wood Hyacinth to just plain Hyacinth. Sheesh. I left my brain somewhere?
