Part 4 has gotten a bit unwieldy. So let’s just see if Part 5 will fly!
Winter is coming on hard in my neck of the woods. We?ve been keeping the woodstove burning 24 hours a day, gathering, splitting, stacking wood. The stove is pretty efficient, hopefully we won?t be at it all winter, just a couple more weekends.
We?ve tilled up the garden space we planted, limed it a bit. I?m stringing hot peppers to dry. I?m cruising Christmas cookie recipes to determine what I need in order to do some baking this year. I didn?t do any last year.
Time to plan for Spring. What will you plant next year? What will you do differently, if anything?
Winter pictures will be nice, too. Nothing quite like the quiet of the earth blanketed in snow, a lone bird nipping at the seed left in the brush.
Just to get things going: our woodstove in action, and the woodpile we?ve put together so far. We use the old metal trashcan for hot ashes.
