Trying to Merge IT and Medical

I have had a dual career for last 10 years. LPN in radiology and then switched over to IT. Restructuring in the company and lack of local opportunity brought me back to Medical. I would love to merge the two together. I have even had experience pushing radiological studies (xrays ct scans) to Doctors to read and back out to site and enjoyed it. I am looking to relocate either to Ocala, Fl or Maine. Has anybody had any success merging these two fields? I know Hospitals and even nursing homes are getting into electronic notes and it seems the field is ripe for a person with both medical and IT background. Thanks in advanced.
