Ultra 160 drives -SCA connector

Okay, I have four Ultra 160 drives with that have 80 pin connectors. To connect to my SCSI card I have to use a 68-pin adapter. I have been told that this will slow my bandwidth to 80mb instead of 160. Is there any way around this? And is this true? thanks.
