Umax 2400s Scanner will not scan under N

As I test Umax 2400s Scanner I get divide by zero exception error. I have had several Techs look at it. the first test finds that scanner is ok. The drivers are running in divices are running.But when I try to do a test scan it comes back with a divide by 0 error. I am operating under NT4 and have a Gateway GP7-450 with zip drive, CD RW, CD R,. I am using scanner a a stand alone on have not tied it to the network.
