Unable to Download Free Software listed at TechRepublic Software Downloads

As a member of TechRepublic, I receeive periodic mails, listing downlodable freeware. But I am unable to download ANY of them, eventhough there is a download icon against the software name, indicating “click here” to download.

I am having a HP PavilionPC (model t820i) with 256MB RAM, 40GB HDD (of which only 16 GB is occupied), Windows XP Home Edition with SP2. I am able to surf the web or download software from other sites readily.

I have ensured that the sites com.com, bnet.com,https://techrepublic.com and zdnet.com are in the ALLOWED list in my Internet Secure Sites.

I would be thankful for a positivel working answer.
