Unable to install MacOS from recovery mode

Hello, so I have a 2012 mid MacBook Pro and I’m trying to reinstall Mac OS in it since I upgraded to an ssd. I’m unable to do so in recovery mode(cmd + r) I’ve formatted the drive and selected “Reinstall Mac OS X Lion” but once I’ve accepted the terms and conditions it start to download and then says “couldn’t download addition files” and that happens ever time I try to install it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
