uninstalling an additional domain controller error

When Im trying to uninstall a second domain controller from a server im getting the following error. I am woundering if someone knows how to fix this error without reinstalling server. this is done in a windows standered server 2003.

The operation failed because:

Active Directory could not transfer the remaining data in directory partition CN=Schema, CN=configuration, DC=Williams, DC=edu to domain controller
room120colew.williams.edu.

The DSA operation is unable to proceed because of a DNS lookup failure.
