Uninstalling McAfee bundled software

My first post so be nice to me please! Last week I moved into 20th Century with my first laptop, nice shiny Vaio. I want Kaspersky 2009 Internet Security Suite & AV instead of the bundled McAfee trial (already attempted to self-activate no less than 3 times!). As the super guys at Kaspersky are prepared to let me transfer my license (in fact they upgraded me to Internet Security from Antivirus, for free!)from my fossilised desktop for free, I was majorly upset when I could not download their software. I contacted KAV support who sent me a McAfee removal tool which only partially worked – it says I do not have permissions to remove all!
Any ideas? anyone? please?
