Unstable Win98

by shawny.marsden . Updated 25 years, 9 months ago

I have a P2 with 256 MB RAM and 2 HDD. I have replaced the memory, motherboard, and HDD yet still have WIN98 problems. I have rebuilt this system numerous times. The only main component I have not replaced is the processor. The problems occur in IE5or on reboot. The IE5 error is usually with the MSHTML.dll file. Once the error occurs I have to reboot in order to use IE again (or Neoplanet). Through all of this rebooting, WIN98 finds a problem with the registry and restores to a previous version. This is a vicious circle and I have tried everything. I’ve renamed the MSHTML and installed a new one as well as some additional dll files. Do I have a system that is possessed?
