Unwanted Startup Element

by liam19 . Updated 25 years, 8 months ago

After deleting some unwanted shareware from my system the Microsoft Internet Explorer tries to open a Web page at every start-up. Naturally I am not connected to my ISP so I get the “This web page cannot be shown” screen.

I have emptied out the “Start” folder. I have dumped all the “Run” and “Run Once” entries in the Registry’s “….USERS/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion” I have emptied out the Win.ini’s “Load” and “Run” lines.

No luck. At each start up that page is called up and fails to load. Of coarse I could just click it off every time but… well, why?

Where else could this page be loading from? Oh Yeah. It is not an active desktop item. I have active desktop turned off.

P.S. With “MSCONFIG” there is no visiblereason for this page to start up automatically.
