Unwanted wallpaper at startup in Windows XP

I have a Gateway Gt 5228 Windows XP SP2 MCE 2005 computer that has a problem. Everytime I boot up I get an unwanted wallpaper after the Windows XP logo for about 3 seconds before my regular desktop appears. This seems to have appeared after I reinstalled my printer after some software issues with it. What I have done is run Hijack This and send the log to Trend Micro where they said it was clean. I have run virus/spyware scans where they have come clean. I have contacted Gateway and they have no answers. I have spent literally 10’s of hours researching this through Google with no results. I am at a complete loss? Any help would be greatly appreciated! I would owe a steak dinner to the one with the answer! Best wishes, Toby
