Update Win98se 1999 to Works 2000 by CD?

This is probably the dumbest question you’ve ever heard, but my Mom recently purchase a new HP that came with Money, Works and Encarta 2000. If I popped the cd’s into my computer, can I update my 99 programs to the 2000 programs? Please don’t laugh!! 🙂
