A friend of mine has a low profile Venturis FX-2 5166 computer that he wants to upgrade. He told me he is willing to spend about $200. The computer has a 1.2 GB hard drive a 100 watt power supply a pentium 166 MHz processor, 2 32MB DIMMS for memory with one empty DIMM slot. I went to the compaq site and could get the specs for the computer although it listed it as having 6 SIMM slots instead of 3 DIMM slots. When I went to enter the Serial Number for more information it said that all compaq serial numbers were 12 characters the digital serial number was 10 numbers and I found no place to enter a digital serial number. Does anyone no a site where I could enter the serial number and get possible upgrade information or does anyone have any upgrade advice.
