upgrade Win98 to Win98SE

I convinced my father to go with an external hard drive for backing up data because that oughtta be simple to help with from three time zones away. Alas, no.

He’s still running Win98 and the new hard drive requires SE.

I’ve suggested he contact whoever he bought the computer from to see if they can help out. I’ve also e-mailed a link to the Windows Update website to him.

Can anyone predict if either suggestion will be effective? Or have you any other ideas of how to cheaply and legally upgrade from 98 to 98SE?
