Upgrading Disks on IBM ServeRAID 4Mx RAI

I have a server with 5 x 9.1GB SCSI disks which is running out of space. I would like to upgrade to 18GB disks on the same controller, but I am not sure if I can just swap the drives out one by one, and then expand the volume set in NT Disk Administrator. Is this advisable??
