USB Gamepad

I have a cheap USB gamepad. Its a copy of a Playstation one. In windows games controller setup everything works fine. But when i installed Tony Hawk it would not recognise the directional pad. The pad and buttons all work in the windows calberation but not in the game.

Do u think this is just the game or something else?

P.S it has done this to another game too and the pad came with no seperate drivers.
