USB key causes crash of PC

I have a HP d530 3Ghz, 2Gb ram.
When I plug in certain USB keys, the screen will go immediately black and the pc will be completely locked up and need a full reboot.

This only happens with certain USB keys.
One that causes this is a SanDisk Titanium Cruzer, but I tried another SanDisk Cruzer that works fine.

When I plug the keys that cause trouble into another pc they work fine, it is only this one pc, and only certain usb keys.

I’ve scanned the keys and the pc with antivirus (AVast) and anti malware (malware bytes) programs with clean results.

Any thoughts on what might cause this?
