USB Port

I recently purchased a HP 6300 series Scanner. While attempting to connect it to a machine which runs NT workstation 4.0 , I found out that NT doesn’t support USB, the scanner has been dormant ever since. Is there a sort of USB to serial adapter cable I could buy to enable me use the scanner with NT 4. My company is standardised on NT 4.0 workstation, hence I will be unable to install win 98 which I hear supports USB. Please help me!
