USB Wireless Adapter stops mouse and keyboard from working

I have a cline with a computer that if you install a USB Wireless Adaptor the mouse and Keyboard stop responding. Physically remove the adaptor from the USB port and they are ok. This happens regardless of which USB port is use and have tried with two different manufacturers adaptors. Any solutions out there ?
