I am the victim in the following problem. The only cure I found was to move my activities to another computer. The problem has not happened with new computer. I would really like to know the solution in case it happens to someone else at my location, as moving to a new computer is normally not an option.
Each time I restart the computer, my account is locked out of the network during reboot. Normally, users are locked out after three unsuccessful attempts to log on. I’m locked out afterfirst attempt. So long as I don’t restart that computer, I can log onto the network with any other pc without a problem. I’ve tried installing all available service packs, and switched out the network card. Those attempts did not resolve the problem. I have tried logging onto the pc with another user account and rebooting the pc. That account did not get locked out. For some reason, the problem is unique to this one pc and my username only. I have not yet tried blowing off the pc OS and reinstalling. I’d rather discover the problem and solution if at all possible. I have consulted with my fellow Workgroup Managers, Help Desk, and network administrators to no avail.
