User accounts and win2k

I am trying to install Win2k Professional on five machines that will log onto a Win NT 4.0 Server. I need to have the profiles kept local so each machine can have slightly different settings even though they log on with the same username. Can thisbe done in Win2k Pro? When I tried the profiles kept being wiped out whenever I logged off due to being saved in a Temporary folder.
