A company in Milpitas is having netware 5.0 problem where the users are getting disconnected from the network. It happens most of the time when they print or are transferring a large amount of files. A message they may get is a netware security message- request to the server timed out. There could be network congestion or the server may be down. Try the operation again later.
Previously they got messages from the policy manager [5.00-015]- Unable to obtain a connection license unit. Operation will continue. Contact your network adminsitrator to verify that licensing services are functioning properly and that license units are available. Error #C0001006. – this hasn’t happened lately however.
The customer had a novell 3.12 server with 50 users before. They bought 5.0 upgrade with 5 client licenses. Then they bought two 25-user upgrade licenses. I have deleted the 5 client licenses and now just have the two 25 user licenses installed- I thought it wasn’t picking up the 2nd 25 user licenses because the 5 user one was locking out the 25 user license.
some messages the appearing on the console after I turned on Nls trace are:
56: DS overwrite c63994d3 :ant:1 lastUpdate:969466731 DM:CN=Shannonm.OU=hq.0=innerstep
does this mean they are losing their connection license for some reason? the licenses have never gone over 35 used and I think there are more people connected than that.
Recently the company had merged trees with a tree from Austin- the two companies are still separate on the tree. Austin has their own server with 15 SCL and one server. would this affect licensing at Milpitas?
