Hey there, I was hoping I could get some help with this so I don’t muck up my network too bad.
Alright, here’s the deal:
We have a wireless router in the living room. It is a Linksys WRT54G and it’s currently connected to the internet, broadcasting a signal and whatnot. The problem is, my room is not in the house. It’s out in the garage. So the signal has to pass through 2 walls and a garage door to get to me and of course by the time it does it’s too wimpy to be reliable.
My roommate told me that we could bridge the connection using a separate router as an access point and that would increase our range(and hopefully give a stronger signal). I just got back from getting another router (D-Link WBR-2310). But before I installed anything I wanted to
A) make sure I’m not wasting my time, and
B) make sure I know what I’m doing…
I really appreciate any answers you can give.
If it’s not possible then at least this new router is alittle better, right?
