UTP direct linking?

I would like to connect two PC directly using UTP cable where both PC has it own network card
install(RJ-45 connection).The problem for me is I would like to know will it be posibble to
connect two PC using a crossover cable or using straightthrough cable or you can suggest
a good way to me how to position the 8 wire inside the UTP for me to make direct connection
between two PC network card.
Please advice.
