Veritas Backup Exec

I’m having a problem with backing up my exchange server. Two weeks ago I was backing up 40 gig in 3 hours now it takes 14 to 15 hours for the same size back up. The only issue I can find is an error “a0008488 access is denied” It has domain user rights so I don’t see how that can be an issue.
Please Help.
