Vertical Block on LCD Laptop Monitor

by aionn . Updated 17 years ago

I have a Dell Inspiron 1501 Monitor, about a year old, and one day after I closed it while it was in use, I came back to find that a red vertical block had appeared down the middle of my screen, about an inch or 2 thick. It wasn’t solid red though, it just tinted everything behind it red. Applying pressure to the monitor frame above the block would cause it to disappear, but when I stopped the pressure, it returned. Now though, half the screen is covered by a huge block which changes color everytime I change resolution or apply pressure. Applying pressure also make this block go away, but again after you remove the pressure it returns, a different multitude of colours.
