Hi,
I am attempting to video moving image sequences generated by some of the visualisation plugin?s on Winamp.
which I would like to capture with close to the same crispness and with as little colour distortion as possible.
My objective would be to capture some of these video sequences, to edit a number of clips and apply effects in Premiere,
then I would then archive the edited sequence back to a mini DV tape on my camcorder.
My ultimate intention would be to present the sequences to mystudents to get them, enthused and motivated to paint to music.
I attempted shooting the monitor?s real-time display using my camcorder. I have tried capturing direct to AVI using a software package called CAMTASIA but the resultant motion is too slow and jumpy.
I am toying with the idea of borrowing another PC or laptop and playing the visualisation sequence from the borrowed machine and either passing the visualisation signal out through a TV card or SVHS out and into the capture card onthe second PC but I don?t know if I will get sufficiently good capture resolution.
My own Ge force 2MX card is for dual monitors and it also has a TV out socket which I am reliably informed wont give me a satisfactory capture either
My reading andweb searching leads me to think that maybe I should be considering some kind of encoder or scan converter to give my captures the quality I see on my monitor.
The array of confusing possibilities includes scan converters and encoders. Given the above context and my obvious lay capability are you able to advise me of the best solution for my needs?
Alternatively are you aware of any people doing this kind of thing and whom I could approach for assistance.
I would be most appreciative of any advice you can offer on this subject.
Keith Rutherford.
