Video Card Question

I recently bought a Asus motherboard for an AMD Athlon system and the video card slot is not what I know as a standard AGP slot. It’s larger and doesn’t work with the card I have. It says on the specs of the motherboard that it’s an AGP Pro. Is that something different? Any answers?
