Virtual directory properties using IIS4

We have IIS4 installed on two of our servers and both are exhibiting the same problem. When attempting to access the properties of a virtual directory the MMC doesn’t open the properties page, however, if you try and close the MMC it tells you to close all properties pages before exiting. The only way to get out of the MMC is to End Task. Has anyone else come across this problem.
