Hi. I am pretty sure I got a virus because: I am now unable to see the desktop icons or task bar or anything. I have to use windows task manager to open something. When i restart my computer the only thing that appears on the dektop is a screen that wants me to buy their anti virus software. But this anti virus software looks to be quite obviously the VIRUS. I have looked at heaps of methods to get rid of the virus. I have used my anti virus software, sophos, but it never finishes the scan or it has hundreds of errors. I have also tried restarting in “safe mode” but i am unable to log in because my password doesnt work, and i dont know the admin password. I downloaded some anti virus thing that only works if i restart with command prompt (i cant do this because i dont have admin password) and after this downloaded everything seemed to go back to normal; the icons and desktop cam back. However i restarted the computer only to find the same problem reacurring again. I then went into add/remove programs to remove the virus thing that wants me to buy its anti virus stuff. I have tried my anti virus software but same errors occuring. And now I am unsure as to if this virus is gone or not. Please help!
