Against my better judgement I decided to try out Vista Ultimate. It was working fine for a while – until I loaded antivirus software (Kaspersky Security Suite 7.0). Upon rebooting, the logon process is very slow and eventually times out with the following error: LOGON PROCESS HAS FAILED TO CREAT THE SECURITY OPTION DIALOG. FAILURE-SECURITY OPTIONS
I’m able to boot to safe mode without a problem. I thought it was doing a scan at startup, so I setup Kaspersky so it does not load at startup. That worked, until I tried to execute the program after the system successfully booted and allowed me to login. Then the system bogged down.
I know the program is Vista compatible. My system is a Dell XPS 410 with 1 gig RAM.
Any suggestions?
