Recently (within the last month) a laptop with Vista 64 Premium installed stopped beign able to receive updates via Microsoft’s Windows Update. The intial indicator when the user logs in is that the system tells him that it cannot contact to the Windows Update server.
I’ve uninstalled the Anti-Virus software (Avast)
I’ve restored the system back 1 day (without success) 1 week (without success), 1 month (without success) and the problem continues.
I’ve tried the BITS repair tool without success.
I’ve tried the CHECKSUR windows update repair tool without success.
I receive the error code 80070081 which is pretty useless.
I can still get to the web and move around as needed. The only limitation I seem to have is Windows Update not working properly.
I’ve run malwarebytes and found nothing.
Any pointers would be appreciated.
