I have a Cisco 3640 router with one available ethernet port and a Catalyst 2900XL. I have two vlan’s- one for users with a network address of 192.168.5.0 and subnet of 255.255.255.0 and another vlan for servers with a network address of 192.168.7.0 and subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. The vlans set up but they two cannot communicate yet and only one vlan can access the internet.
The ethernet port on the router is set to 192.168.5.1, so my 192.168.5.0 vlan can access the internet, but obviouslythe 192.168.7.0 network cannot. I know it’s possible to get the vlan’s communicating and the 192.168.7.0 network on the internet also but that’s where I need help.
What I need to help with is:
1. How can I get the two vlan talking to each other with the subnet mask I need.
2. How can I get the 192.168.7.0 vlan on the internet?
If possible the specific commands to do this would be a big help also.
Thanks for any help!!!
