VMPS Query

I am about to split our network into 2 vlans for extra security on one of them. I am also considering dynamic vlans without fallback to unsecured network to allow easier movement of workstations around the network. We currently have only Catalyst 3500 switches and my readings on Dynamic VLANs lead me to believe that a 5000 or 6000 series is required as a VMPS server (talking to a tftp server with ascii database file). As we don’t have a 5000 or 6000 series switch is there a way to use the tftp server directly as the VMPS server or are we up for several grand for a new switch. Any ideas or cheaper alternatives gratefully recieved.
