VMware Infrastructure Enterprise (ESX) integration

by admin . Updated 18 years ago

Hello all, I am new to TR so I thought i’d share alittle bit about what my company is implenting right now.

To start off we used to have 16 Dell 2650 Rack servers. We have recently Physical to Virtual, ALL of our servers. We contracted out a company that pretty much specializes in the setup. The setup is as follows:

ESX SERVERS (3 of these)
*IBM x3650, Xeon Quad Core 2.6GHZ/1333Mhz/12MB l2, 2x1GB ChK, O/Bay 3.5in HS SAS
*Quad Core Intel Xeon Processor 2.5GHz/1333MHz L2
*20GB PC2-5300 CL5 EC DDR2 FBDIMM Memory
*xSeries 835W Redundant Power Option

We have a cluster setup on our 3.2 DS3300 SAN. So basicly you are looking at a cluster at 60ghz and 60gb of ram. This thing is a monster and with all the features of VMware Infrastructure Enterprise, you can do just about anything.

I am not sure if any one else happens to use this in there environment but I would definetly like to start a dicussion on it to see if any other company happens to be implenting this in there live environment, or possibly someone that already has.
