Volume corruption

I have experienced lately the following problem on one of my Hard disks (IBM): “The Volume appears to contain one or more unrecoverable problems”. This message appears when running the command ?FIXMBR? and ?FIXBOOT? using the recovery console (W2K).also if I run the command ?CHKDSK? it?ll stop at 48%. Are there any other possibilities to get this HD fixed?
