Volume Shadow Copy

by gubeauchamp . Updated 18 years, 9 months ago

I have windows 2003 server R2 with VSS (volume shadow copy) on the server and only the 2 Domain Administrators can acces the Previous Version tab with the VSS client software install their computer.

Today I go the a user computer, Admin on their workstation but regular user on AD network and seen they have all the Previous Version tab on the share drive and folder without the software installed, I dont understant. We are not using any remote application software install on the domain. I really dont want any user of the domain can access this tab and mess the shared drive with a 1 week old restore folder or complete drive. Can someone explain how to disable this feature for regular domain user and tell me why now all user have access to this previous tab without the software installed.

Thank you,
