VPN

Where am I going wrong? I have two servers on the network and 11 workstation. I have setup RAS on the NT workstation server and I can VPN into the network. I can ping all workstations in the network I can even see shared files on the other workstations. The only thing I can’t do is run the program that talks to that other server. It wants port 3256. Thing is ports 1000-5000 are opened. What am I doing wrong? And why do when I VPN into the network I can’t see the others on the network through network neighborhood or explorer?
