VPN

I would like some info about VPN. I have a customer who needs a connection to link about 6 clients to a server in another country through their VPN. They don’t have a server at the new office and would like to utilize the one on their HQ. I have suggested an ADSL modem, router, switch. The clients are on Windows Vista and do i need any additional software to support the VPN connection.
