VPN and intranet

Hi i am new here. just have a question for intranet and set up VPN remote access. Since our business request some of agent need to remote access info by VPN to our server. and i am looking at dell server with win2003 server to set up a simple intranet to host all info which agents able to access to. and my question is can anyone have a list which is what else do i need except a dell server and win2003 server to set up a simple intranet with VPN solution ? and should able to have firwall enable to protect the server as well.
