VPN Connections with Multiple (Wired & Wireless) Adapters

by handlingit . Updated 18 years, 10 months ago

Scenario: I’m at my desk utilizing my wired adapter with my binded VPN virtual connection at a 100Mbps.

Impromtu meeting arises (of course) and I need to undock my laptop to go to the meeting.

After a couple of minutes my wireless adapter kicks in and I have internet access again (yay!). However, my Cisco VPN virtual cxn was lost. I have to re-authenticate and restart all apps requiring that cxn. All unsaved work is lost as well(boo!).

DESIRED SOLUTION:
When I undock my notebook, I don’t want my virtual VPN connection lost. I want it somehow “transerred over” to my wireless cxn.

PARTIAL SOLUTION ALREADY IN USE:
Authenticate my VPN cxn to bind to my wireless adapter and then start my Wired adapter. However, performance is not at optimum since I’m restricted to my 54Mbps wireless cxn instead of the 100Mbps wired cxn.

CAN ANYONE HELP ME?
