VPN Endpoint router

I have searched with no luck so here’s the question…
I have a very small workgroup xp pro and win 2003 server.I needed access remotely to the office so I installed a dlink DIR-330 for the endpoint vpn. I can establish a connection but I am not able to use my software client to access the company database. I can only see the shared drives if I use the ip address. Can anyone point me in the right direction please.
