I have a doozie, here!
We have a VPN server used by our warehouses to connect to our system. It was working fine until yesterday, when the server had a problem. We fixed the problem by changing to another server. All we had to do was change our NAT to reflect the change, and that was it. All of our warehouses are working fine, except for one. It stays on “Verifying Username And Password”, and will eventually show error 691 : Unknown Error.
I tried :
– Creating a new connection : Same problem.
– Using different username : Same problem.
– Using original username on another station : Works.
– Using a different address (our second external address, which is our backup link) : Same problem.
– Used a different service on the same external address (to be NATed elsewhere) : Works, so the address responds.
– Telneting on the VPN server through port 1723 : That works.
– I noticed the clock was half an hour late. Re-synched it : Same problem.
– Did a system restore from the last time it worked (Wednesday) : Same problem.
I’m at lost as to what it is. I cannot pinpoint the problem. The address responds to another service, the VPN responds with other users, the port responds, I’m truly at lost here. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
