VPN Internet Access

We have a VPN router and I can’t seem to access the internet if i’m connected to . I guess it’s good for security reason but it’s so inconvenient that no internet once you are connected to VPN. Is there a way that i can reroute the gateway IP address either in the user or server side? Thanks in advance
