VPN Setup

I have 2 servers one in US and another one in Canada. i want to create a VPN on these servers one as a client and another one as a server, both have one LAN card on it with a public IP. My primary requirement is to transfer D drive data to backup server through a third party tool, can someone guide me is it possible or not. if yes then how?????
