I have a problem with all the serveur 2003- R2 present in the infrastructure (I have 3 server W2000SP4 and 6 W2003R2). W2000 servers must be eliminated a.s.a.p. All the servers are member of an AD domain (W2000 domain… if I resolve the following problem I can make the raise to W2003). All the servers are patched with the latest hotfix and Service pack using WSUS.
I have installed various applications on the w2003 servers using a domain admin account without problems.
When I try to install some specific applications (e.g. IBM Client Access or a proxy application…) using a domain admin account (that is local administrator, too) I do not succeed to install them. When I run setup.exe of the application I see the hourglass for some second then and it vanishes. In the processes I see setup.exe but it does not use resources and it remains on hung.
In the event viewer I got no event related to the operation. The only way is to install those application is to use a local administrator account: in this way the setupp succeded.
The problem is that one of these W2003 servers is a Domain controller and so I do not succeed to install the applications.
Can anybody help me?
I have made a lot of tests , I have also disabled the DEP feature without success.
Has someone the same problem?
I do not have specific error so I cannot troubleshoot it.
