W2003Server: Prevent it from looking in Zip files when searching

by zpunky . Updated 18 years, 11 months ago

In our network environment, we get a lot of .bak, .tom, .$ac, files, etc., some of these can be huge and all together they can use up a lot of network storage. When using W2K Server I’d search for the various temp files and then delete them, often recapturing upwards of 5 GBs.

Under W2K3, the search ‘peers’ into ZIP files and returns those results. This really meeses with my +A and then deleting them. Now I have to manually scroll through the thousands of results and +Click to exclude any temp files found in ZIPs before I can successfully delete.

Any way of preventing the search from looking into ZIP files?

Thanks
