W2K Network, new PDC Hardware

Need some advice, have been out of this part of the business for a couple of years, now tasked with upgrading the hardware of a small company’s PDC.

Just want to make sure I have my thought process correct. New server hardware is in.

My plan is to configure the new hardware as a BDC on the network, transfer over any shared applications (only 2) and DHCP – then demote the existing PDC and promote the new hardware.

Sound simple enough? Both are W2K servers – 8 users total, applications I’m not worried about – just the AD.

Please – all advice is appreciated as soon as possible.
